This statement covers Bellsight itself: the application at app.bellsight.com, the report, audit and plan pages opened from share links, and our public pages. It does not cover the client websites that Bellsight audits.
Our target
Our target is WCAG 2.2 Level AA. This statement describes the work toward that target and the issues we know about. It does not claim that every page reaches it, and it is not a legal determination.
What you can adjust
- Text size. Choose 90, 100, 110 or 125 percent in Settings, under Appearance.
- Theme. Choose light, dark, or your system's setting.
- Motion. If your system asks for reduced motion, Bellsight shortens or removes its animations.
How we check
- Contrast. Bellsight's design system measures every pairing of text and background colour, in the light, dark and print themes, against 4.5:1 for text and 3:1 for boundaries and other marks.
- Automated tests. Our test suite includes an automated axe-core scan of the shared components, a check that every control which removes the browser's focus outline draws a visible focus ring instead, and a check that nothing hidden can receive keyboard focus. The whole suite, the contrast measurements included, runs on every pull request.
- Native controls. Forms, disclosures and dialogs use the browser's own HTML elements where one exists, so keyboard and screen reader support comes built in.
Automated testing finds an estimated 50 to 70 percent of accessibility issues. The rest takes manual review and testing with assistive technology, which is where we expect to find the issues we do not yet know about.
Known limitations
- Chart colours. Some charts draw their data in colours that fall below 3:1 contrast against light backgrounds and in print. A replacement palette, measured against every background, is being rolled out.
- Chart detail. Charts give screen readers a short summary of what they show, not every value.
- Older screens. Parts of the application built before the current design system have not yet been rebuilt on it, and have not had every check described above.
Reporting a barrier
If something in Bellsight is hard or impossible for you to use, email accessibility@bellsight.com. Tell us the page, what you were trying to do, and the browser and any assistive technology you use. We will reply, tell you what we will do about it, and help you get the information you need in another way in the meantime.
